Reconditioned steel drums meet the same legal and safety requirements of new steel drums

Reconditioning

Cleantank steel drum decontamination operation uses an application which includes equipment which is patented and unique to the drum reconditioning industry in Europe. The process also utilizes a cleansing medium which once spent in the process can be recovered, recycled and reused it has the extended benefit of being biodegradable limiting any chemical impact on the environment.

The Cleantank operation takes full environmental advantage of reusing a steel drum, as opposed to purchasing a new one, reducing the initial carbon footprint. The technology itself is so advanced it also removes the need for traditional costly and polluting procedures, such as incineration of the drum contents, reducing the carbon footprint of the reconditioned drum even further.

There is an expectation that steel drums are to be reused, Cleantank is a fully licenced reconditioner and conforms to a range of industry safety standards.

The steel drums are given an initial inspection to determine the general physical condition and suitability for re-use. There is a complete removal of all residual products and contents then a thorough cleaning of both internal and external surfaces and removal of all product labels and markings. There is a post cleaning inspection followed by a leak proof test. Reconditioned steel drums meet the same legal and safety requirements as new steel drums.

Reconditioned drums are internally washed and cleaned to industry standards and inspected; externally, they are shot-blasted to remove the original paint and labels, and painted with a high quality, specially formulated paint.

The reconditioning service can be managed as a closed loop laundry service, with collection and delivery. Alternatively, used, unwanted drums can be collected, reconditioned and then sold back into the industrial packaging market.
